Brisbane was the site for the 12th annual CEO and Chair Symposium, held February 2-3, 2017. It is the first time the event has been held in Brisbane. The Symposium focuses on the latest issues and trends impacting the association events sector.
Brisbane Convention Bureau general manager Rob Nelson officially welcomed the leaders to the city.
“Brisbane has a strong track record of hosting national and international association events so I’m thrilled that Associations Forum chose Brisbane as the 2017 host city of its signature leadership symposium,” he said.
“Brisbane is well recognized as an Asia Pacific research and innovation hub where association members can access thought leaders and expand their knowledge. This symposium is an ideal opportunity for CEOs and leaders to experience Brisbane as a superior conference destination, and get a taste for the city’s expanding accommodation, dining and entertainment offerings.”
Associations Forum managing director John Peacock said he was pleased to bring the CEO & Chair Symposium to Brisbane for the first time. “Brisbane is very accessible by plane from around Australia and New Zealand, and the meeting facilities and accommodation options are first rate,” Peacock said. “Choosing Brisbane gives attendees an excellent destination that combines professionalism, facilities and services with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.”
