Singapore
The island-nation scores in business events though initial projections for 2016 were not too rosy, given the sluggish global economy and Singapore’s heavy reliance on banking and finance, ICT, manufacturing and biomedical sciences, which many business events emanate from.
Biennial mega-events in the early part of the year were watched closely. The Singapore Airshow in February set a positive tone, with increases in exhibitor and trade visitor numbers, and more deals announced, although total value dropped.
In April, Food&HotelAsia2016 occupied a massive 97,000 sqm of space at Singapore EXPO and drew almost 72,000 attendees from over 100 countries, up 13 per cent from the previous event…read more at CEI.
