Jakarta is a dynamic market that is definitely in growth mode. Moreover, it is a maturing market with a growing number of shows. Labor is plentiful, and the major attraction is for regional shows—but that is changing.
The city is not only the seat of the national and provincial governments but also Indonesia’s political center and the hub of its national finance and trade.
The Jakarta Convention Center opened in August 1992 for the 10th Non-Aligned Movement Summit, accommodating 62 heads of state and their delegations. This means the venue has over thirty-one years of experience hosting events for some of the world’s key figures. Since 1992, the JCC has kept up with events and communications technology changes, providing state-of-the-art service.
The center measures approximately 30,000 sqm. It includes a round theater-style hall (Plenary Hall), two exhibition halls (Exhibition Hall A & B), an Assembly Hall, a banqueting hall (Cendrawasih Room), a spacious main lobby and atmospheric lower lobby, VIP rooms, and lounges, and ten additional meeting rooms which can be configured to match specific event requirements. There is a business center and bonded warehouse that facilitates fast customs clearance of temporarily imported goods. An independent 6,000-space car park is immediately in front of the convention center, and a selection of mid- to high-range hotels are within walking or short driving distance.
Each exhibition hall has its own 1,000 sqm lobby and access points. Both halls have a ceiling height of nine meters and are equipped with telephone and communication outlets, audiovisual points, single and 3-phase power sources, and floor box access to electricity, phone lines, water, drainage, and compressed air on request. Trucks have direct access to both halls for easy loading.
Exhibition Hall A covers 3,060 sqm and has a floor load of 1,200 kg/sqm. Exhibition Hall B spans 6,075 sqm and has a floor load of 1,500 kg/sqm. The two halls can be connected through a 450 sqm corridor, giving a combined exhibition space of 9,585 sqm.
With its economy projected to grow 6.4% in 2024, Jakarta is attractive to business expansion because it is a business hub for a growing marketplace. It has an excellent infrastructure, including an international airport and good roads. Jakarta is also developing a high-speed rail system. The diverse population means that global visitors feel comfortable.
