Purpose
Working for three decades in Greater China, Accenture has been a pivotal force in helping the government and enterprises harness digital power, just as Huawei strives to build a better-connected world through customer-centric innovation. Based on their shared mission to enable business success for customers within China and around the globe, Huawei and Accenture established a strategic alliance in 2014. In December 2017, the two companies signed an additional strategic agreement for deeper collaboration and joint innovation.
Solution
Accenture accomplished its goals, including announcing the strategic partnership with Huawei in the port information field. Accenture will help Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd (SIPG) establish a consolidated information management platform that will run on Huawei’s FusionCloud solution, with some of the work to be undertaken as part of the existing Huawei-Accenture Strategic Agreement.
SIPG is a large business conglomerate engaged in port operations and related businesses, including port handling, stevedoring services, warehousing, logistics, and real estate development services. In its effort to become one of the global top-tier providers in this industry, SIPG is addressing several challenges, including capital scarcity, streamlining its management structure, ensuring service quality, and controlling operating costs.
Through the existing Huawei-Accenture Strategic Agreement, Huawei will provide its hardware and software expertise and services, including hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) FusionCube; OpenStack-based cloud operating system FusionSphere; integration server, software-defined storage, and network hardware. Accenture is responsible for the overall design of SIPG’s information management platform and system integration, leveraging its in-depth industry insights and expertise in large-scale systems implementation.
Huawei and Accenture will also collaborate to implement their engineering system, human resources system, master data management system, and private cloud platform, as well as to implement and optimize their business intelligence systems. Together, they will provide an agile and responsive information management platform.
Accenture showcased its innovation and industry leadership. The powerful horse conveys a strong brand message through visual and textual elements. The central visual, a dynamic image of a horse and rider, suggests speed, agility, and the power to lead, which ties into the slogan “Lead in the New” displayed prominently on the wall. This slogan encapsulates Accenture’s commitment to innovation and leading transformation in the digital age.
