Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment David Ridgway said the bid win was a huge coup for South Australia and is set to attract 2500 delegates and inject $17.6 million into the state economy.
“The Marshall Government has a strong plan to grow our tourism sector and a key part of that is attracting more events and conventions to South Australia,” he said.
“The equation is simple, more business conventions and visitors coming to South Australia, brings more dollars into our economy and creates more jobs.
“That’s why we’re boosting the Events Bid Fund to $40 million over the next four years which includes $5 million to attract more conventions to South Australia.
“The next opportunity to maximise the benefit of the Congress is to disperse delegates into our regions before and after the conference, which is something we will achieve through our Linger Longer program.”…Continue reading at CIM Magazine
