Purpose<\/h3>\n

Derived from the Latin word for \u201ctoward,\u201d the name \u201cVersum\u201d (pronounced ver-SOOM) communicates the company\u2019s deep commitment to helping customers continuously move toward the future by enabling innovation and creating cutting-edge solutions.<\/p>\n

A global leader in technology, quality, safety, and reliability, Versum Materials\u2122 is one of the world\u2019s largest suppliers of next-generation CMP slurries, ultra-thin dielectric and metal film precursors, formulated cleans and etching products, and delivery equipment that has revolutionized the semiconductor industry. Versum Materials operated for more than three decades as a division of Air Products. An independent company since October 2016, Versum has had annual sales of about US$1 billion, 1,900 employees, and 10 major facilities in Asia and North America.<\/p>\n

2017 proved to be a record-setting year for the semiconductor industry. According to World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS), the worldwide semiconductor market grew 20 percent, exceeding $400 billion for the first time. Among all major product segments, memory is the strongest, with sales on track to grow 60 percent year-over-year, contributing to 30 percent of worldwide semiconductor sales in 2017. The consensus is that the growth momentum in memory will continue.<\/p>\n

Korean memory makers are the biggest beneficiaries of this memory super cycle. According to the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), the memory export value from Korea grew 86 percent through November 2017 compared to a year earlier, indicating that Korean memory makers are gaining more market share<\/p>\n

Solution<\/h3>\n

Versum Materials exhibited materials and delivery systems for semiconductor manufacturing at SEMICON Korea 2017. This marked the first trade show appearance since the company\u2019s October 2016 spin-off. Versum Materials operated for more than three decades as a division of Air Products. The company displayed two pieces of equipment from its Korean subsidiary Versum Materials HYT, Inc. (VMHYT) that have made Versum Materials one of the semiconductor industry\u2019s largest and most trusted suppliers in Korea. Both pieces of equipment are available only in Korea.<\/p>\n

The slogan, “Breaking Barriers, Stretching Boundaries, Creating Possibilities,” suggests their focus on innovation and advancing their field. The booth emphasizes the company’s futuristic approach.
